DataScope - Getting Started

The DataScope display consists of two main windows. At the top is the data window, and below it is the details window. Here is an example of what the screen looks like:

The data window contains alternating gray and white stripes. Each stripe can hold a pair of data lines, with the transmitted data on the top line in green, and the received data below it in red. The above example shows the beginning of an actual RAS connection, and you can see in the data window exactly what is being sent by the client and the server.

 The details window contains a graphical representation of the lights on a breakout box, showing the state of the control signals on the monitored communications line. Green means "asserted" red means "not asserted" The remainder of the details window shows information about the state of the incoming and outgoing data channels, as well as cumulative totals of a variety of events.

 If you want to hide the details window, click the Details item in the main menu. This button toggles the details window at the bottom of the screen, which now looks like this:

You can use DataScope to monitor any port on a ChiliPORTS card. Click the Action menu item to see a pulldown menu of all the actions you can perform with DataScope:
