The DataScope Character Set |

|
Only about one-third of the 256 possible characters in 8-bit data are printable. Since the DataScope data window is designed to let you see all the data that is transmitted or received on a port, it needs to use a special character set to make non-printable characters visible. The values from 0 to 31 are used for control codes. DataScope uses the standard ANSI representation for these 32 values (Hex 0 to 1F): |

All of the characters with values from 33 (Hex 21) to 126 (Hex 7E) are printable. From 127 (Hex 7F) to 255 (Hex FF), the characters are not printable. DataScope displays these characters using their two-digit hex values, like this: |
